Terms, Cancellation and Refund Policy

All students are solely responsible for reading and following Solace&Shine LTD policies and guidelines so everyone is supported in their commitments while also maintaining and sustaining your Ashram.  Herein are the refund and cancellation policies for 1-1 Guidance, Asana, Roots & Wings Program, Retreats, Workshops and Ashram Life/Study in Residence Programs.  By committing to a program through the Ashram, you are agreeing to all cancellation and refund policies. Updated as of May/2024. 

We aspire to offer all students the most optimal programs possible for growth. To this end, please be sure that you're committing to the correct Program, can attend said program and be able to use the membership or services in the specified time allotted. It is your responsibility to read our guidelines before committing. Non-use of membership or programs are not grounds for a refund. In some instances, per Solace&Shine’s discretion, a credit may be applied to your account for future Programming. 

Liability Waiver: ALL Members must have signed the latest version of the Śivani Howe/Solace&Shine LTD Waiver in order to participate in programs.  The Liability Waiver may be found here.

1-1 Guidance:

• All sessions must be paid in full and waiver must be completed before the session commences.

•  While your session does NOT INCLUDE a recording; we are happy to do a recording of the session upon request - however we take no responsibility if there is an error with the recording or accidental deletion. 

• There is a 24 hour cancellation policy of sessions.  If you need to cancel within 24 hours of your session the session payment is forfeited.  - To cancel prior to the 24 hours, rescheduling is available at NO additional fee. There are no refunds once sessions are booked. 

• Multiple Session Packages -  can be paid for together and then booked one at a time at whatever intervals are optimal for the client.  

• Multiple sessions packages must be utilized within 6 months of the first session.  Any sessions not used within the 6 months are forfeited.  

Terms of 1-1 Work including Life Coaching and Bridging Worlds Sessions.  

• Śivani Howe’s 1-1 Life Coaching and Bridging Worlds Sessions are not therapy, counseling, mental health care, or treatment for substance abuse. The director is not functioning as a licensed mental health professional and spiritual direction is not intended as a replacement for counseling, psychiatric interventions, treatment for mental illness, recovery from past abuse, professional medical advice, financial assistance, legal counsel, or other professional services.

• Śivani Howe’s 1-1 Life Coaching and Bridging Worlds Sessions are for people who are basically well adjusted, emotionally healthy, functioning effectively, and wanting to pay attention to their spiritual life in a consistent and regular way.

• Śivani Howe’s  1-1 Life Coaching and Bridging Worlds Sessions may promote spiritual practices such as periods of extended silence, prayer, listening, values clarification, identifying plans of action, accountability, examining lifestyle, and questioning currently held beliefs.

• Śivani Howe’s 1-1 Life Coaching and Bridging Worlds Sessions promotes a confidential relationship and the director agrees to keep all information strictly confidential, except in those situations in which such confidentiality would violate the law or could jeopardize the safety of the client or others.  Shivani is required to report suspected cases of child or elder abuse. Also, professional ethics regarding confidentiality require spiritual directors to report imminent self-endangerment (suicide) or harm to others.

• The session fee is payable in advance of each session by e-transfer (preferable), or for people living outside Canada Credit Card (with cc fee) and Wise.com is available upon request.

• As the readings “start” when you purchase your reading, (even if there is a delay between your purchase and your face-to-face date), all payments are final and non-refundable.  Please see our Solace&Shine Cancellation policy for refund and rescheduling details.  

Poetry Mentoring and Editorial Services

• Feedback will be offered within two (2) weeks from date of payment and submission, unless arranged by me in advance in writing.

• Fee is non-refundable.

• The service session fee is payable in advance of each engagement by online credit card purchase or by invoice with e-transfer (preferable).

Workshops and Masterclasses (online and in person):

• For all workshops (Yoga or Poetry) and Masterclasses, whether online or in-person, the program must be paid for in advance. 

• Once paid, the registration fee is non-refundable. 

• Only in major circumstances (i.e. illness, injury, etc.), a credit may be issued for future Programming (to be determined on a case-by-case basis by the office).

Retreats: 

• In order to hold a spot in a Retreat (weekend and Navaratri), a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the full, non-discounted retreat price in CAD is required to confirm registration. 

• Full payment of program is required one (1) month prior to the start of the retreat/workshop.  

• For those who make a full/partial payment prior to one (1) month before the start date, a refund of monies paid (minus the non refundable registration deposit of 50% of the full, non-discounted retreat price) will be provided if cancellation from the retreat is requested.

• After one month (30 days) prior to start date, no refunds will be given unless we are able to fill your spot.  If spot can be filled, a refund of monies paid minus the non-refundable deposit of 50% of the full, non-discounted retreat price will be provided.

• All retreats have minimum number requirements - this changes per retreat.  If minimum requirements are not met - at such time, a FULL course refund will be offered to all paid participants.

Study in Residence Long-term Residencies/Chakra Immersion/300-hr Yoga Teacher Training:  

• In order to commit to a long-term residency, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the full, non-discounted tuition/residency cost in CAD is required to confirm registration. 

• Full payment of program is required one (1) month prior to the start of the residency and/or YTT.  

• For those who make a full/partial payment prior to one (1) month before the start date, a refund of monies paid (minus the non refundable registration deposit of 50% of the full, non-discounted tuition/residency cost) will be provided.  

• After one month (30 days) prior to start date, no refunds will be given.

• All Immersions have minimum number requirement.  If minimum requirements are not met - at such time, a FULL course refund will be offered to all paid participants.  

 Roots & Wings Program:  

• Two (2) payment options are provided for the Roots & Wings Program to support students who may require a monthly payment option. Because of this, upon the start of the Roots & Wings Program, no refunds will be permitted.

• Commitment to the program is important in order to develop quality programming for students.  Within thirty (30) days PRIOR to the Roots & Wings Program start date a 50% refund from the total tuition amount will be provided if withdrawal is requested.  As noted above, no refunds provided once the program has started.

• ALL Roots & Wings participants must provide a credit card number on file and/or pay a deposit of $200 CAD in order to reserve a spot in a discounted retreat.  

• If Roots & Wings members cancel their spot to a retreat within thirty (30) days prior to retreat start date, the credit card will be charged for the full $200 and/or the $200 deposit is non-refundable.  

• New Roots & Wings Members may only subscribe to the Program up until the Program is half (1/2) complete for the year.

We*Are Annual Subscriptions: 

• Refunds will not be given to annual We*Are Membership subscriptions at any point during the term. 

• It is your responsibility to cancel memberships prior to the automatic renewal date.
